  • Narrative Description of the Project:

    The north and east coast of Oman was hit by Tropical Cyclone Phet on 4 June 2010 with the Quriyat Wilayat being one of the worst affected areas. As a result of the devastation people from the villages of Hail, Al Ghaf, Daghmar and Dhabab were re-housed in temporary accommodation in or near the three villages. New housing developments for each of the villages have been planned by Muscat Municipality. The number of houses and the length of roads to be constructed are as follows: Hail Al Ghaf , 273 houses for a Road length of about 6 km; Al Daghmar, 108 houses and about 2,5 km; Dhabab, 99 houses and about 3,3 km. The total houses are 480 and total length about 11,8 km. The Scope of Work includes, but not limited to, the following: - Earthworks - Pavement Construction - Traffic Signs - Road Marking - Paving and Curbing Works - Street Lighting - Storm water Drainage - Public Utility Service Ducts

     

  • Description:

    Design Review and Construction Supervision which include the following:
    1) Assist the Employer in Contract Administration and in Contract Management
    2) Provide guidance and direction to the Contractor
    3) Furnish all necessary ground and topographic data, including setting out of control points
    4) Issue the interim payment certificate based on the progress at site and according to the conditions of the contract
    5) Review and recommend for approval revision (if any) of Contractor's work schedule
    6) Establish standardized Quantity and Quality control programs (Quality Plan)
    7) Establish Safety plan
    8) Review and approve Contractor's working drawings and temporary works proposals
    9) Provide supervision of works to ensure Contractor's compliance with the specs and contractual obligations
    10) Notify the Employer about Contractor's claims and provide the Client with the evaluation
    11) Prepare variation orders, evaluate request of time extension
    12) Keep the Client informed about progress and problems or potential problems
    13) Coordination with Local Authorities and Third Parties involved in the works
