  • New Design and Supervision for Construction of Shinas – Al Rowdah Dual Carriageway Project, Sultanate of Oman
  • Project Location:

    The project start from Shinas Parclo Interchange on Batinah Expressway and merge with existing Mahdah - al Rowdah Road after crossing village Tumayt, Wadi Al Qahfi and village Shiyah.

    Objective of the project:

    The existing Al Aqr - UAE Dual Carriageway is one of the important roads of the road network of the Sultanate of Oman. It links Oman with Dubai, a trade hub in the region. A portion of the above road passes through Hatta (UAE area) which is required to be realigned.

    The project aims to provide the best road corridor to connect Wilayat Shinas and Wilayat Mahdah bypassing Hatta. The new alignment will generally pass through mountainous terrain and cross many major / minor wadis at different locations.

    The Scope of Work is detailed as follows:

    The scope of the design services shall comprise carrying out a comprehensive study of the project including reviewing the alignment options presented in the Feasibility Report.

    • Data Collection -Collect all previous studies, reports, as-built drawings, contour maps, and aerial photographs from concerned authorities.  Topographic Survey, Traffic Surveys/update from DGR&LT and ROP, Pavement Investigations, Drainage structures investigations, Geotechnical Investigations.
    • Preliminary Design includes - Traffic analyses and projections, Plan and Profile drawings showing layouts, profiles location and type of intersections, and bridge and drainage structures, Design of drainage structures, Pavement design, Utilities within the ROW including buried and overhead, needing re-location or protection, prepare general drawings showing affected properties, if any, and cost estimate of acquisition, Preliminary construction cost estimates on the approved alignments and Preliminary Design Report.
    • Detailed Design and Tender Documents - Final Design Drawings, Tender Documents, Detailed Engineers Estimate, Tendering & Tender Evaluation.
