Project Location:

The project is located at Aydem in Dhofar Governorate approximately 120 km west south west from Salalah.

The main component of the project:

• Improvements to the Runway at Aydem

According to the TOR, the Scope of Work is detailed as follows:

• Topographic survey for the runway including its strip, the RESA at both ends together with the apron and helipad to check on accuracy of existing survey
• Design to rehabilitate the existing runway, apron and helipad in order to meet the technical requirements of CAR 139/Annex 14 Volumes I & II using pavement strata and other data provided by others
• Modify turn pads if necessary for largest design aircraft
• Advise the Client as to the advantages and disadvantages of widening the runway from 30 to 45 m
• Carry out a hydrological study to check as to whether the improved runway can adequately drain during periods of rainfall
• Two new Fire Appliance parking positions towards each end (added during site visit)
• New Wind Direction Indicators
• New Illuminated Runway Distance Marker
• New Illuminated Guidance Signs
• New duct crossings for future use (added during site visit)
• New runway, apron and helipad markings
• Preparation of Tender Documents and Technical and Financial Tender Evaluation
