  • Study & Detailed Design for Storm Water Drainage – Al Ansab Area Project Awarded to Renardet S.A. & Partners Consulting Engineers LLC
  • Project Location:

The project is located in Ansab area in Muscat Governorate.

According to the TOR, the Scope of Work is detailed as follows:

According to the Terms of Reference, the Scope of Work is divided into three stages as follows:

Stage 1 –Hydrological Review, Topographic Study, Soil Investigation, Hydraulic Modeling

    -       Inception stage including desk studies, review of existing information and initial site visits to determine additional information required

    -       Topographic surveys of each site, including the immediate upstream and downstream areas is required to ensure the hydraulic models are based on reality.

    -       Physical survey of all existing utilities, such as water supply and sewage networks, electricity and telecommunication cables, etc

    -       Hydrologic analysis of the upstream catchments to determine flood volumes and peak discharge is considered in detail.

    -       Hydraulic analysis of the water courses, including wadis and existing sub surface and surface drainage structures to locate areas where the conveyance capacities are exceeded

    -       Evaluation of various flood protection measures and overflowing risks

    -       Investigation Requirements including tender documents for geotechnical site investigations.

    -       Soil investigations

    -       Review of the hydraulic capacity of the existing drainage system

    -       Assessment of flood protection provided by existing flood conveyance and protection measures

Stage 2 –Preliminary Design of the project

    -       Definitions of Design Criteria and agreement on design parameters

    -       Proposals of Alternative solutions and analyzing both technically and financially

    -       Preliminary Design

    -       Structural details

    -       Cost estimate

    -       Construction programme

Stage 3 - Detailed Design and Tender Documents

    -       Detailed design

    -       Bill of Quantities

    -       Special Specifications

    -       Preparation of the Tender Documentation
