Narrative Description of the Project:

The Storm Water Drainage Channel in this project has a total length of 1610 m with a combination of 2 cell and 1 cell box culvert units of 4.00mx 2.00m closed and open channel. Starting near the Hamriyah Mosque the 3 cell (2+1 units) closed units runs under the service road up to Al Nahda Hospital up to Ch: 0+ 600 and turns 90o left then runs as 1 cell channel behind and along the boundary of Al Nahda Hospital, Diwan Parking area and at the end joined with the newly constructed Box culvert on Al Amerat road. The 2 cell units beyond the Ch: 0+600 is extended up to the Ch: 0+ 634.418 and connected to the newly constructed box culvert opposite to Al Nahda Hospital. The Layout of the channel is divided in to convenient units namely: unit No: 1 to 75 for the 1 cell channel and unit No: 1a to 28a for 2 cell channel for easy reference and execution. There are utilities relocation and earth,road and asphalt works which will be performed to reinstate the use of the road along Hamriyah.

Description:

Design Review and Construction Supervision which include the following:
1) Assist the Employer in Contract Administration and in Contract Management
2) Provide guidance and direction to the Contractor
3) Furnish all necessary ground and topographic data, including setting out of control points
4) Issue the interim payment certificate based on the progress at site and according to the conditions of the contract
5) Review and recommend for approval revision (if any) of Contractor's work schedule
6) Establish standardized Quantity and Quality control programs (Quality Plan)
7) Establish Safety plan
8) Review and approve Contractor's working drawings and temporary works proposals
9) Provide supervision of works to ensure Contractor's compliance with the specs and contractual obligations
10) Notify the Employer about Contractor's claims and provide the Client with the evaluation
11) Prepare variation orders, evaluate request of time extension
12) Keep the Client informed about progress and problems or potential problems
13) Coordination with Local Authorities and Third Parties involved in the works
