Construction Sur Corniche Road and Sur Al Ayjah Road Rehabilitation (Sur Beautification) Works

Narrative Description of the Project:

The project is located about 350 km away from capital Muscat, Oman. This road section is vital as it connects the commercial center of Sur City to residential areas crossing major wadies. The project consists of the construction of 2 Bridges, road and other structures. Sur Coastal road is about 1 km of roadway and a 11 span reinforced concrete bridge with a total length of 280 m. The Bridge is supported on RC cast-in-situ piles. Sur Al Ayjah Road is about 1.1 km of roadway which inlcudes a Reinforced Concrete Bridge with a total length of 178 m. This bridge is also to be supported on RC cast-in-situ piles.

Description:

Design Review and Construction Supervision which include the following:
1) Assist the Employer in Contract Administration and in Contract Management
2) Provide guidance and direction to the Contractor
3) Furnish all necessary ground and topographic data, including setting out of control points
4) Issue the interim payment certificate based on the progress at site and according to the conditions of the contract
5) Review and recommend for approval revision (if any) of Contractor's work schedule
6) Establish standardized Quantity and Quality control programs (Quality Plan)
7) Establish Safety plan
8) Review and approve Contractor's working drawings and temporary works proposals
9) Provide supervision of works to ensure Contractor's compliance with the specs and contractual obligations
10) Notify the Employer about Contractor's claims and provide the Client with the evaluation
11) Prepare variation orders, evaluate request of time extension
12) Keep the Client informed about progress and problems or potential problems
13) Coordination with Local Authorities and Third Parties involved in the works
