Narrative Description of the Project:

Ministry of Agriculture has decided to provide modern irrigation network (using sprinklers, emitters and bubblers etc.) in several small farms (1000 farms) all over Sultanate of Oman under the subsidy scheme for a total irrigated areas of approximately 2000 hectares. For providing better system, it was decided that the design and drawings along with required materials would be provided to the farmers who in turn can find out an agency to carry out the work as per the design. This subsidy programme is of national importance since the irrigation system will bring the optimum use of water for better crops (by yield and quality). In view of the above, Ministry of Agriculture has decided to appoint a Consultant to design the modern irrigation method/system for various farms.

Description:

1) Examine the survey drawings provided by the Ministry
2) Prepare standard detailed drawings for all aspects of irrigation system section by section through underground connection, equipments, connection between pipes, valves, booster pumps if any and pressure control etc.
3) Preparation of Detailed design and Bill of Quantities for each farm
4) Prepare standard set of instructions, specifications, conditions, payment schedule etc in a form of tender documents
5) Prepare the final design, tender documents and work out cost estimate
